A 4 bedroom farmhouse that has been lovingly restored. 1km from Arronches, a town included in the book "The Most Beautiful Towns and Villages of Portugal". This Alentejo monte, easily accessible, is located on the Rio do Caia about 130 miles east of Lisbon by freeway or by secondary roads. There are fish – barbo, boga, axigan, carpa and enguias (small eel) available when the river is high. Restoration of this historic site has been done by Richard Hiner Architects of Seattle, Washington. Includes construction of an outbuilding (formerly an animal house) containing a toilet and shower, plumbing for a washing machine. There is a septic tank, monitored by the city of Arronches, and a restored well and pump for water, mainly used for the land and trees. We also have city water for interior use.
